Raised in Palm Beach County, Miriam has a deep connection to the community, which
fuels her passion for creating meaningful experiences for children and families. Her goal
is to make the museum a hub of exploration and growth for the community she loves.
With a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Miriam brings a unique perspective to her
role, combining her passion for cultural understanding with a commitment to fostering
inclusive learning environments. Before transitioning into the arts and culture sector,
she served as an Operations Manager for a medical service company, where she
developed strong leadership and operational skills, now applied to her work at the
museum.
For the past two years Miriam has truly become a leader in the community, by
participating in several high-level leadership training programs such as Leadership
Delray Class of 2023 as well as U-Lead Scholar at UCF. Currently she serves as a new
board member for the Latin Quarter WPB and was granted into the new Arts
Administrator of Color Fellowship with the Culture Council for the Palm Beach County.
Miriam believes in the power of hands-on education at children’s museums to inspire a
love of learning, wonder, and exploration in young minds. She views museums as
comforting and whimsical spaces that spark curiosity and imagination.
As a mother of two, Miriam is committed to creating environments where children can
explore, learn, and grow.
“I am honored to lead the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum into its next chapter. I
envision the museum as a beacon of new experiences that seed a love of learning and
a sense of curiosity in our community’s youngest learners” says Miriam Naranjo,
Assistant Director.
Currently the Museum is fundraising for the renovation of the existing farm exhibit in the
museum. Our Family Farms exhibit is designed to spark that curiosity by allowing
children to explore and experience what life was like for Florida’s early pioneers–
through play, imagination, and hands-on learning. By supporting the Museum, you’re
helping us provide these enriching experiences that give every child the opportunity to
discover and explore the world around them in a way that’s engaging, fun, and perfectly
suited for their early years.”, by Miriam Naranjo, assistant director.
